It’s not an April Fool’s prank — Netflix really does have a slew of new, exciting, moving, and hotly anticipated shows coming to the platform this month.

What to Watch recommends you check out these five shows as soon as they’re released in April and schedule future rewatches sometime in the summer.

‘Pulse’ (2025)

Netflix is finally contributing an original show to the medical drama canon with Pulse. This heart-stopping new show stars Willa Fitzgerald (MTV’s Scream), Justina Machado (One Day at a Time) and Jessie T. Usher (The Boys) as doctors at a Miami emergency room.

Per Netflix, “The series will examine what happens when the people you work with become something like family (or, even more).” Pulse is perfect for fans of The Resident and Grey’s Anatomy, or for anyone who thinks Max’s The Pitt is too intense.

‘You’ Season 5 (2018-2025)

Netflix’s hunkiest serial killer is returning for a final season of obsession, stalking and quippy narration. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is back in his native New York with a new wife and a life in the public eye.

Season 5 of this sexy, funny, shocking drama promises an ending like you’ve never seen before. Joining the cast for the grand finale season are Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Griffin Matthews (She-Hulk).

‘North of North’ (2025)

North of North is a new Netflix comedy about a young Inuk woman living in the Arctic. After marrying the town golden boy right out of high school, Siaja (Anna Lambe) is feeling stuck in her life. After an accident inspires Siaja to break up with her husband and strike out on her own, she must navigate the hilarious ups and downs of small town life and single motherhood.

‘A Tragedy Foretold: Flight 3054’ (2025)

Airplane crashes seem to be in the news now more than ever before. This new Brazilian docuseries investigates the tragic disaster that took 199 lives in São Paulo in 2007. The plane, which was coming from the southern city of Porto Alegre, overshot the runway upon landing at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, crossing a roadway and crashing into a building belonging to the same airline.

As Brazilian authorities examined the tragedy, viewers can learn more about the complexities of controlling airplane traffic and why crashes can still happen, despite modern, sophisticated equipment. This three-part docuseries shows how a shocking tragedy can impact a community for years to come.

‘The Diamond Heist’ (2025)

A new true-crime docuseries from director Guy Ritchie offers a fascinating perspective of an attempted robbery. Featuring interviews with both the law enforcement and the criminals themselves, The Diamond Heist tells the tale of a daring theft that was attempted in the summer of 2000.

The plan was to use a bulldozer to ram-raid London’s newly-built Millennium Dome arena in broad daylight, steal the world’s second biggest flawless diamond in a haul worth $200 million and escape by speedboat down the river Thames.
