A Muslim Youth League (MYL) leader and his family were allegedly attacked while they were returning from a relative’s house on Monday (March 31).
The Vidyanagar police have registered a case against four individuals under non-bailable sections in connection with the incident. Youth League District secretary and Muttathodi Service Cooperative Bank president Chengala Hashim Bambrani, 36, his wife C.M. Nafeesath Tasnia, 30, and their two children were reportedly assaulted by a group of four near Bambrani Nagar in Chengala Koyappadi. Mr. Hashim sustained injuries to his hand and face and received treatment at a private hospital. Based on a complaint filed by his wife, the police have registered a case against Nawaz, Karim, Muhsin, and an unidentified masked individual.
Mr. Hashim alleged that SDPI-CPI(M) activists orchestrated the attack.
