Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t mind cooking topless from time to time — but her daughter Apple might have something to say about it.
On Saturday, June 14, Paltrow posted a cooking video showing off one of her breakfast recipes. The video itself was nothing new, as Paltrow often shares what she calls “boyfriend breakfast” videos on Instagram — but in this one featured the actress cooking sans a shirt.
While Paltrow was only filmed from the back,, the video caught the attention of a lot of people — including her daughter Apple, 21.
“Did I steal your shirt by accident or….” Gwyneth’s daughter wrote in the comments section, prompting the health and wellness influencer to reply with a series of laughing emojis.
Though some commenters appeared to balk at the video, it’s completely in line with the non-traditional way Paltrow and ex Chris Martin, 48, have raised Apple and their son Moses, 19.
The pair’s children “are very proud of the iconoclastic approach that we have taken in the past,” Paltrow told E! News on May 12. “Looking back, there are always things that we used to write about [at Goop] where people were like, ‘Oh my gosh, what is this?’ And now they’re so mainstream. My kids are really proud of the fact that we’re always kind of first in this space.”
The pair finalized their divorce in April 2015 and Paltrow married her husband Brad Falchuk in September 2018.
“We try to always strike a balance,” Paltrow also said. “For me, manners are super important. So, that was kind of the structure: manners and education. I want a lot of expression and individuality and freedom running through that structure. So, that’s kind of how we looked at it.”
She added that it won’t be a surprise if both children end up working in a creative space. “They are definitely artist souls,” Paltrow said. “I do think that [a] mix of structure and art is really coming through in who they are now. They’re both academic, and yet they have these beautiful free spirits and I think they will pursue art, which I think is wonderful.”

Paltrow has previously admitted she’s often wished she had more children, though she’s grateful she is a stepmother to Falchuk’s children Isabella, 19, and Brody, 18.
“My dad [Bruce Paltrow] used to say the only regret he had in his entire life was not having more kids, and I felt like that for a long time until I got yours too,” she told Falchuk, 54, on the April 8 episode of her “Goop” podcast. “I got to tack on.”
