Telangana Forest Department has prepared proposals to develop 59 blocks around Hyderabad into urban parks where the city residents can unwind. Tourism department officials too were suggested to identify some places to develop.
Officials were asked to take up projects in the vicinity of software industries, to create a pleasant atmosphere for employees working from home; the project designs should include resources needed by them such as Wi-Fi, security and others.
The suggestions were made at a pre-budget (2025-26) meeting of the State Tourism, Archeology, Culture and Prohibition and Excise departments, held by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Tourism and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao in Hyderabad on Tuesday (March 4, 2025).
The officials were directed to draft budget proposals in tune with the Telangana Tourism Policy that the government would launch. The proposals prepared by the Tourism department to develop Eco tourism, medical tourism, temple tourism, spiritual tourism development would be given due priority.
The Ministers said that several people in the State are keen to take up tourism projects in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Proposals have to be prepared to identify tourist spots which could be developed in PPP mode. Such existing projects which are not accruing revenue to the State government have to be reviewed.
