Kelly Bensimon is officially an empty nester — so it’s time to downsize.
“My girls have left the nest, and it’s time for me to celebrate my new life filled with family, love and fun! Who’s coming along?” Bensimon, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, March 13. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom duplex is on the market for $8,995,000.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum — who shares daughters Sea Louise, 27, and Thadeus Ann Bensimon, 25, with ex-husband Gilles Bensimon — explained in the video above that there two major aspects she loves about her former apartment at 240 Centre St. in Manhattan.
“First, it’s like a home because there’s so much space,” the real estate agent noted. “Second of all, there’s privacy because each person, family member, has their own bedroom. So I was upstairs, the girls were downstairs.”
The two-story unit is located in the historic Police Building, which was originally built in 1909 for police commissioner Teddy Roosevelt. The building, which stopped being used by the NYPD in 1973, is stunning with Romanesque and Beaux-Arts architecture and was designated a New York City landmark in 1978.

The apartment has massive windows, which helped Kelly stay upbeat. “It’s so gorgeous, the light is incredible, so you always are in a good mood,” she gushed.
She likely appreciated the extra help. Kelly told TikTok followers earlier this month that the apartment was her safe space when she called off her wedding to Scott Litner four days before the ceremony in June 2024. In the aftermath of their split, she stopped renting out the co-op and returned to the unit in July. Now, however, she has found a new home.
“Today we are packing. So we are packing for our trip to the Grenadines, and we are packing up the apartment that gave me the biggest hug and gave me so much strength after I called off my engagement,” she said in a TikTok video earlier this month. “And so now we are moving into a new, new 90 days of all good news.”
Next up is making her new place feel like home. “One thing that I like to do in apartments and houses — because not only do I sell and rent and help people buy all over the world — one thing that’s really important to me is a vibe because I built my own house,” Kelly said in another video. “So when you build your own house, you understand the value of how people want to live.”
