Three members of a family, including a five-year-old boy, from Telangana’s Rangareddy district were killed in a road accident in Osceola County, Florida, in the US on Sunday, reports Sushil Rao. The crash occurred when a pickup truck driving on the wrong side of the road collided head-on with the SUV the victims were travelling in.
The deceased have been identified as Pragathi Reddy (34), her mother-in-law Suneetha (56), and son Arvin (5). Pragathi’s husband Rohit Reddy (34), who was driving the SUV, and their nine-month-old son survived with injuries. Pragathi was the second daughter of former MPTC member Mohan Reddy and former sarpanch Pavitra Devi, associated with BRS. The accident occurred at 2.50 pm local time between Kenansville Road and Yates Ranch Road. The SUV veered off the road and overturned.
Pragathi and Suneetha, who were in the Toyota, were pronounced dead at the scene, while Arvin was declared dead at a hospital. Florida highway patrol troopers said the pickup truck was travelling the wrong way and into the direct path of the SUV. The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital by police.
