The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Sunday (April 6, 2025) expelled its functionary ‘Ice House’ S. Moorthy following his arrest by the police on charges of criminal intimidation.

In a party release, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said the functionary’s action ran contrary to the party’s principles and brought disrepute to the party. He was an office-bearer of the AIADMK’s unit in Triplicane, Chennai.

In another release, Mr. Palaniswami condoled the death of the former Rajya Sabha MP C. Perumal, who had also served as presidium chairman of the party’s Krishnagiri district unit. He had also held positions in the party’s student wing.
