Ambedkar Smriti Vanam to be maintained in PPP mode, says Collector

The district administration is planning to maintain Dr. Ambedkar Smriti Vanam through Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, and more facilities will be provided in the park soon, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

Plans are afoot to develop Pavitra Sangamam, at Ibrahimpatnam, river front, canal bunds and other tourist spots. Besides, boat house and floating restaurant will be opened soon in Krishna river, the Collector said. “Very soon we will organise business summit, agriculture and horticulture shows and seafood festival,” Mr Lakshmisha told the media on Friday.

The government is planning to set up a theatre, commercial complex, book stalls, auditorium, food court and other facilities in Ambedkar Smriti Vanam, Mr. Lakshmisha said.

Tenders would be invited soon on developing Ambedkar Smriti Vanam, in which 125-foot long Statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was erected in Swarajya Maidan, he said.
