After sharing details about her husband’s medical issues earlier this week, Amy Duggar King is speaking out against false accusations.

On Wednesday, April 9, Amy told People that her husband, Dillon King, has been diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture.

According to Amy, 38, a severe diaphragmatic rupture is “an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity.”

The wife and mom of one said it was “news no one ever expects to hear.”

After sharing details of Dillon’s health struggles with People, Amy took to her Instagram Story to share the link with her followers, encouraging them to read the article if they would like to know more about what Dillon, 37, is dealing with.

As a result, Amy said she’s received several comments accusing her of making money from her husband’s health issues.

“Hey, everyone. OK, so I am just seeing a lot of comments based on what I was telling about my husband,” Amy began in a video. “People have got it so wrong.”

Amy continued by saying that as a result of the false accusation, she “just wanted to come on here and just share my heart for a second.”

“It is so sad to me how people think that I could stoop so low and to think that, like, if you click on the link to to read what Dillon’s diagnosis is, that I get paid. Oh, there’s money involved. There is absolutely zero money involved,” Amy clarified.

Amy defended her decision to share Dillon’s story with People because it’s a complex situation and a lot of people who read People will pray for Dillon.

“It’s just a long story, and I just said ‘see the link in bio’ so you know what it is,” Amy explained. “People are just so programmed or groomed to think that everything has to do with money and that there’s always someone looking for a handout. There is not anything like that involved.”

“It’s just a story that People magazine put out. In her conversation with People, Amy said that doctors discovered a 4-inch tear in Dillon’s diaphragm, adding that his right kidney, appendix, colon and small intestines have been “displaced.”

“Doctors have made it clear that this is not a quick fix,” Amy explained to People. “The risks are high, the procedures complex and the recovery uncertain. We are taking this one moment at a time, clinging to hope, prayer, and the wisdom of the medical teams who are now walking this road with us.”

As a result, Dillon remains hospitalized.

A frustrated Amy concluded her statement by saying, “I just think I need a hot tea.”
