Former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman is getting real about her postpartum journey.
“Alright, I’m just going to go out on a limb and be honest and say [that] postpartum has been harder for me than pregnancy,” Dorfman, 38, said in a Saturday, April 5, Instagram Story video. “Truly, like, from a physical standpoint, it’s obviously been very hard for me to lose weight.”
According to Dorfman, the emotional challenges of the postpartum experience have affected her.
“Like, your hormones are just out of whack,” she admitted. “Nobody prepares you for postpartum. There’s so much stuff on pregnancy, but not a lot on postpartum. You’re also navigating all of this while being exhausted while taking care of your child.”
Dorfman gave birth to daughter Harper, whom she shares with husband Blaine Hart, in December 2024.
“It’s a thing. I feel, like, every woman battles something postpartum,” Dorfman further speculated on Saturday. “Whether it’s external, internal, hormonal [or] all of it. But, yeah, postpartum is the real hard part about having a baby. I’m going to put it there.”
Despite the hardships of postpartum life, Dorfman has been able to lean on husband Hart through it all.
“Especially [during] the first couple of months, I think the word that comes to mind is partnership,” Dorfman said in a follow-up Instagram Story Q&A when asked how their marriage had shifted since Harper’s arrival. “Sometimes you just feel like teammates tagging each other in and out to get it all done.”

She continued, “You definitely have to make a concerted effort to spend time with each other and make it not all about the baby. But in doing so, you really do build this cool partnership with someone.”
Dorfman and Hart also hope to have more children — when the timing is right.
“We’ve always said we wanted three but going to take it one at a time,” the former reality TV star captioned a third slide in her Saturday Q&A session. “I want some time this year for us to be with just Harper and to recover, so maybe [we’ll] start trying at the end of this year or early 2026.”
Dorfman married Hart in 2023 after her previous reality TV journey. She first appeared on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season 18 of The Bachelor in 2014, later becoming the franchise lead herself. During The Bachelorette, Dorfman got engaged to Josh Murray before they split several months later.
