In a city-wide 10-day cleanliness-drive that has entered its second day, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) cleared 3,570 tones of waste and construction debris from 458 sites.

The effort spans all eight BBMP zones, with Zonal Commissioners overseeing the operations on the ground. Bangalore Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) staff are actively involved at each site to ensure efficient waste removal.

As part of the campaign, 1,533 locations with accumulated waste — ranging from construction and demolition (C&D) debris to roadside logs and garbage — have been identified. Clearance has already been completed at 30% of these sites. More than 13 JCBs, 10 tippers, 60 tractors, and 170 personnel have been deployed across the city.

The BBMP has urged citizens to refrain from dumping waste in public areas and instead hand over waste to BBMP’s door-to-door auto tippers. Residents spotting illegal dumping are encouraged to report it via the BBMP helpline (1533) or the Sahay 2.0 mobile app.
