The Kozhikode District Bus Operators’ Association has threatened to launch a protest against the alleged harassment by the Motor Vehicles department (MVD).

In a press release, association general secretary T.K. Beeran Koya said that operating bus services on time in Kozhikode city has become a difficult task due to waterlogging and resultant traffic snarls. He added that they are unable to cancel trips or park vehicles away from traffic gridlocks, as MVD officials and traffic police impose hefty fines. If this continues, the association will be forced to suspend services as a mark of protest.
