'Came out weeping': Two-and-a half year old girl raped in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was raped by a neighbour in Satna town, 520km from Bhopal, on Thursday evening. According to the survivor’s mother, she was playing near the house of the accused when he lured her in and sexually assaulted her.
“The toddler came out weeping. When her mother asked her, she narrated her ordeal. The family immediately filed a police complaint and we registered a case under Pocso Act. He has been arrested,” Kolgawan police station in charge Sudeep Soni told TOI.
The girl’s family feared she was badly injured, but a medical checkup, thankfully, revealed no serious injuries, say sources. Locals are relieved that the accused is off the streets as he was a nuisance, say police. State Congress president Jitu Patwari attacked govt on crimes against women.
“Now, a heart-wrenching case of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl being raped in Satna! When will you (the CM) realise that innocent children of the state are paying the price for your failure as the ‘most unsuccessful home minister’? When will such shameful incidents, which make life difficult for young girls, come to an end?” Patwari posted on social media.
