CID 2: Graffiti artist calls out the makers for using his artwork without credit, fans write 'CID wale bhi crime kar sakte hai pehli bar pata chala'

The iconic crime show CID is back in the spotlight, and this time, it’s not just for its thrilling cases. Fans were left stunned by a shocking twist: ACP Pradyuman, the beloved face of the show since its debut in 1998, has reportedly been killed off on screen.
On Monday, Mumbai-based graffiti artist Mooz Graffiti called out CID on Instagram, sharing a clip from the show that left him both surprised and disappointed. In his post, Mooz pointed out that the show had featured his artwork without permission—art he had originally showcased on his YouTube channel.
What should have been a moment of pride turned into a case of alleged copyright infringement, as the artist expressed frustration over his work being used without credit or consent. The post has since sparked conversations online about respecting creators and giving due recognition to original artists. However, he now deletes the video.
Mooz said, “Initially, I was excited because we have all watched CID since childhood and getting your artwork featured in it is a good thing. But it’s not just me; Zake, Elmart, and a lot of other people’s artwork has been featured here. But the funny part is that instead of going out on the street and shooting the artwork or hiring a person to show the vandalism, you chose to take it from a YouTube video. I found that funny.”
He captioned the post, “Sala ye Barbosa ne credit le liya! Woke up to this! CID showed our artworks in their recent episode ‘The Aftermath’ where the graffiti seems to be taken from Youtube videos! That’s quite funny!!”
Netizens were quick to react to the same, a user wrote, “Ohh shit, they revealed our artist names ab sabko apna scheme samjhega! Humne toh Barbosa naam sirf identity chhupane ke liye use kiya tha aatank to matlab.” Another one added, “Wow! CID wale bhi crime kar sakte hai pehli bar pata chala.” While one of them suggested, “Bro SUE THEM! In logo ka content use karo to turant copyright strike marte hai. Good chance to teach’em a lesson.” A user also wrote that CID would make an episode on him too, “CID ka ek episode teri ye wale case pe aayega.”
Talking about the latest track of CID, fans witnessed a gripping turn, with the team going up against the elusive criminal mastermind Barbosa, played by Tigmanshu Dhulia. He’s the man behind the devastating bombing that claimed the life of the legendary ACP Pradyuman, portrayed by Shivaji Satam.

The emotional episode, titled The Aftermath, begins with the team’s heartbreak over the ACP’s death and follows Daya, Abhijeet, and the rest as they chase down clues hidden in mysterious graffiti popping up across Mumbai. Among the striking images are Jared Leto’s Joker and Marvel’s Incredible Hulk symbols that seem to carry chilling messages from Barbosa himself.
