Class eight student dies in bull race near Vaniyambadi

A class VIII student died after he was dragged by a rope that was tied to a bull during a bull race event in Pullur village near Vaniyambadi town in Tirupattur on Wednesday.

Police said that the deceased was identified as K. Satish, 13, along with a few friends, he was watching the bull event held near the race track in the village when suddenly the boy’s leg got tangled with the rope that was tied around the neck of the race bull during the event.
 
The boy was dragged at least 50 metre on the track before he was rescued by other spectators and police.  Immediately, police and health staff shifted the injured student to Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore. A case has been registered by Timmampet police. A probe is underway.
