A few hours after DMK leader and Minister K. Ponmudy was stripped of his post as the party’s deputy general secretary, AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Friday (April 11, 2025) demanded that he be dropped from the Cabinet too.
“The indecent remarks made by Minister Ponmudy on women are condemnable. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin should think about whether he should continue to be a Minister,” Mr. Dhinakaran said in a social media post.
Mr. Dhinakaran further contended that the Chief Minister’s indifference to other controversial comments made by the Minister previously emboldened him to make more such comments.
The AMMK founder further urged the DMK president to instruct his partymen on how to treat women with respect and dignity.
