Minister for Culture Saji Cherian on Saturday (March 15) urged artists and cultural institutions to reach out to children and keep them engaged in order to save them from the dangers of the drug menace.

Many children lacked the opportunity to keep themselves engaged in cultural or sports activities, he said after presenting the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi’s 2023-24 Fellowships and the 52nd State Visual Arts Awards at the Durbar Art Centre here, according to a release.

The 52nd edition of the Akademi’s State visual arts exhibition titled ‘Keral Nahi Keralam – And I Rise Again’ featuring the artworks of award-winning artists was inaugurated on the occasion, it said.
