Three candidates from the TDP and one from the BJP filed two sets of nominations each for the MLA quota MLC elections on Monday. Those who filed the nomination papers included TDP’s Beeda Ravi Chandra, B.T. Naidu and Kavali Greeshma, and BJP’s Somu Veerraju.
March 10 was the last date to file nominations for the elections scheduled to be held on March 20. Jana Sena Party ’s K. Nagababu has already filed his nomination last week.

The candidates submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer R. Vanitha Rani in the Legislative Assembly building. She made the candidates take an oath as per Article 173(a) of the Consitution, related to the qualifications to become Members of the Legislative Council.

Ministers Nara Lokesh, K. Atchannaidu, Kandula Durgesh and Y. Satya Kumar, MLC Panchumarthi Anuradha and MLAs P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Palla Srinivasa Rao, Vemireddy Prasanthi and K. Lalitha Kumari accompanied the candidates during the filing of nominations.
Assistant Returning Officers R. Srinivasa Rao and M. Eswara Rao were present.
