Four members of a family were found dead in a house near Begur village in Kodagu’s Ponnampet taluk on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Nagi, 32, and her seven-year-old daughter Cauvery, Nagi’s father Kariya, 75, and her mother Gauri, 70.

Nagi’s husband Girish, 35, is absconding. Police has launched a search for Girish.

Both Nagi and Girish were working as labourers in a coffee estate. The incident came to light when fellow workers came looking for them when they failed to turn up for work on Friday. The couple was staying in the house of Nagi’s father Kariya, according to sources.

Superintendent of Police, Kodagu, K. Ramarajan, and other senior police officials visited the spot. A probe is under way.
