Government requested to appoint ophthalmic officer for every one lakh people

Andhra Pradesh State Ophthalmic Officers’ Association’s State general secretary Sappati Vasantha Rao on Monday (March 03) urged the government to ensure promotions for the ophthalmic officers who completed 30 years of service. He has also asked the government to appoint at least one officer for every one lakh of people since visual disorders, including Myopia and cataract and other diseases, were identified among many people in the backdrop of changes in lifestyle and food habits.

Members of Srikakulam Ophthalmic Officers Association felicitated Mr.Vasantha Rao on his elevation as the State general secretary in the State-level conference held in Vijayawada. Speaking to media here on the occasion, he said that the Association’s State president K.J.Raghurami Reddy, State associate president G.K.Mohan Reddy and other executive members decided to meet Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav to submit a memorandum with regard to their promotions and appointment of new officers as the existing officers were overloaded with multiple responsibilities and frequent medical camps.
