Hugh Jackman is happy with the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, except for one thing.
The Daily Mail reported that Jackman, 56, took a pause during his musical review in New York City on Friday, April 18, and told the audience he had “one little gripe” about the film.
“Don’t tell Ryan,” Jackman said, before adding he and Deadpool & Wolverine costar Ryan Reynolds shared nearly every scene of the movie together except for the opening sequence.
“Now that’s fine, I don’t need to be in every scene in the movie. But Ryan is a writer. And when I see the script, I see that the scene that I’m not in is the opening sequence which is a dance number to an NSYNC song by Ryan.”
Jackman continued, “I’m like, the one scene I’m not in has dance. Now Ryan, he’s very talented, but dancing?”
The actor made sure to point out that Reynolds, 48, didn’t do the dance sequence himself. “There is no way I would try and match Ryan’s dance double Nick Pauley… because the guy’s like 25 years old,” Jackman noted.
Jackman then performed his own dance to “Bye Bye Bye” — the very song Reynolds’ Deadpool danced to during the movie’s opening.
Though he appears to feel he missed out on that opening scene, other areas of Jackman’s life have gained attention in recent months. In February, a source close to the actor told Us Weekly he and girlfriend Sutton Foster were “spending a lot of time together.”
The source added, “They’ve known each other for so long that it’s easy to fall into the next stage of their relationship,” the source shared, revealing .” and revealed the two were talking about moving in together. “They’re not rushing into marriage but are committed to taking the next steps together,” a separate source told Us.
The pair were first linked in October 2024 after performing together in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man. Sutton and Jackman were both married to others at the time — Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced their divorce in September 2023 while Foster filed for divorce from Ted Griffin in October 2024.
Jackman and Furness were married for 27 years before their separation. In March this year, a source close to Furness told Us Weekly the actress was “rebuilding her life.”
The source said, “She’s relied on a strong support system of female friends. She also spends time with other women who’ve been through similar situations who offer her unwavering support.”
