Days after PMK founder S. Ramadoss removed his son, Anbumani Ramadoss, from the post of party president, the latter said on Saturday that he would continue to discharge his duties as the party’s president and that his foremost duty would be to form a strong alliance under the guidance of Dr. Ramadoss.

In a much awaited letter to the party cadre, Dr. Anbumani urged various organs of the PMK and its office-bearers to ensure the success of the party’s Chithirai full moon conference in Mahabalipuram, and strengthen the party for the upcoming Assembly election in the State in 2026.

“As far as the State Assembly election is concerned, it will be my foremost duty to form a strong alliance that our cadre want. We will do it at the right time, and in a manner that makes everyone happy,” he added.

Dr. Anbumani underlined that he was formally elected as the PMK president by the party’s general council members on May 28, 2022, in Chennai in the presence of Dr. Ramadoss. “It has been acknowledged by the Election Commission of India too. I will continue to be the party president. I resolve to work towards realising the goals for which Dr. Ramadoss founded the party and the reason why I was made the party’s president.”

He further said that it had been a 12-year-dream to organise the Chithirai Full Moon conference. “I have been appointed as the head of organising committee for the conference by Dr. Ramadoss. We all have the responsibility to ensure that it becomes a success. The preparations [for the conference] are in full swing,” he said, urging all office-bearers to hit the ground running to mobilise cadre for the event.

Dr. Anbumani said that he had two important goals before him. “One, to successfully organise the conference. Two, to ensure a [hitherto] unseen success for the party in the upcoming Assembly election in the State.”

He reiterated that his first duty was to guide the party to realise Dr. Ramadoss’ political goals, and add glory to his leader’s name.
