Tamil Nadu and Sri Lankan fishermen who consider each other brethren have, nevertheless, for decades seen the other as inimical to their profession and welfare. As they come together to the contentious mass of rocks at Katchatheevu for their annual pilgrimage this year, they realise how difficult a practical solution that will appease all is, frustrated by political compulsions that make it impossible.
