To develop students’ interest in space science and technology, the Singareni Collieries Educational Society (SCES) has decided to celebrate the golden jubilee of the launch of India’s first satellite Aryabhata on April 19, 2025.

The celebrations would be held in all the SCES-run educational institutions including nine schools, one Women’s Degree and PG College besides the Singareni Collieries Polytechnic College (SCPC) spanning across the State’s coal belt.

The celebrations will feature various events including quiz, essay writing and drawing competitions to mark the Satellite Technology Day, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the launch of Aryabhata, a historic milestone in the Indian space saga, said G Srinivas, secretary, SCES.

The events would highlight the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)’s significant achievements in space science research, exploration and application of space technology for public good as well as its upcoming space missions.
