The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) led by chairman V. Lachi Reddy, submitted a memorandum of 37 demands to the State government, urging early resolution of long-pending issues concerning government employees. The JAC leaders submitted representations to government Advisor K. Kesava Rao and General Administration Department principal secretary V. Raghunandan Rao on Wednesday (April 9, 2025).

Mr. Kesava Rao reportedly assured the delegation that the issues raised would be considered seriously and placed before the Cabinet Sub-Committee for appropriate action.

The memorandum was the outcome of a meeting held at the JAC office in Hyderabad, where representatives of various employee associations across departments deliberated on the prevailing challenges faced by government staff.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lachi Reddy said the JAC’s objective is to ensure resolution of employee grievances in a timely and structured manner, and called upon the government to act with urgency.

The demands

Issues highlighted in the memorandum include the demand for cashless medical treatment in corporate hospitals, enhancement of ceiling limits for medical reimbursement, clearance of pending medical bills, and priority release of funds through the green channel. The JAC also emphasised the need for conduct general transfers during April–May every year, transfer related to spouse cases, on medical grounds and differently abled persons must be allowed under the G.O. 317.

The JAC sought abolition of private recruitment agencies and establishment of a dedicated corporation to streamline outsourcing. Further, the delegation urged the government to reintroduce the old pension scheme (OPS), release pending dearness allowance arrears by January 2025, and implement the long-awaited pay revisions with a 51% fitment for all employees, teachers, and pensioners.

Deputy Collectors Association general secretary K. Ramakrishna, TAPUS president Hanmanth Rao, Telangana Employees Union president Darshan Goud, TEA president Dr. G. Nirmala, TGTA general secretary Ramesh Paka, SGTU president Mahipal Reddy, Medical Officers Association president Dr. Kathi Janardhan Rao, and representatives from HMWS, TG Employees Association, Redeployed Employees Union, and others participated in the meeting.
