Jessica Biel recalled her now-infamous “schoolroom situation” involving a Subaru and driving stick shift while reuniting with her 7th Heaven castmates for a podcast taping.
Biel, 43, joined former costars Beverley Mitchell, David Gallagher and Mackenzie Rosman for the Sunday, March 30, episode of their “Catching Up With the Camdens” podcast, where they grilled their TV big sister about her driving faux pas on set.
“Anything that sticks out [from the show] like the corner of the schoolroom?” Rosman, 35, asked Biel, joking about the time Biel crashed her car and everyone saw it.
Biel laughed, “Honestly, I was just waiting [for this].”

The actress, who played the eldest Camden sister, Mary, on the WB series , quipped, “I was going to say, ‘Oh, yeah. The camaraderie between us all and how we just had such a nice warm place to go to work as kids. [But] No. All right, you can hear the real dirt about what happened.”
Biel then recalled one of her more embarrassing moments on set, saying, “I popped the clutch in my parents’ Subaru when I had my learner’s permit, not my real license.”
She explained, “And I flew backwards and reversed into Mackenzie’s school trailer and busted it off its supports. Broke the computer.”
Biel remembered, “The computer got smashed, my parents’ car got smashed and I almost hit my brother [Justin Biel].”
Rosman, who played the youngest daughter, Ruthie Camden, joked, “You really messed up my Oregon Trail game” with the car accident, which was soon the talk of the lot.
“I just remember you came screaming into the studio, because we were shooting, and you were just so shook up. And I was like, ‘What happened?’” Mitchell, 44, recalled.

Mitchell, who played middle sister Lucy Camden, then defended Biel, saying, “It was raining. It was dark.”
Rosman totally agreed, adding, “Let’s not pretend that we all haven’t had really terrible driving mishaps.”
Mitchell noted, “I don’t know how to work a clutch,” so she was in awe of Biel attempting to drive such a difficult car. “I don’t know that I want to learn,” Mitchell admitted.
Rosman tried to ease Mitchell’s trepidation, saying, “I’m a good teacher. I’ve taught three people how to drive a stick and two people how to drive a motorcycle. So we can get you on two wheels too.”
In addition to Biel, Mitchell and Rosman, the Camden family was made up of brothers Matt (Barry Watson) and Simon Camden (Gallagher) and twins Sam and David (played by Lorenzo and Nikolas Brino), who joined in 1999. Their parents, Annie and Eric Camden, were portrayed by Catherine Hicks and Stephen Collins.
7th Heaven ran for 11 seasons from 1996 to 2007. Biel exited the series in 2003 after season 7. She later returned for a single episodes in season 8 and season 10. Watson, 50, left the show in 2005 amid season 10, but returned for the two-part season 10 finale that aired in 2006.
Gallagher’s departure came in 2006 following season 10, while Mitchell and Rosman — as well as Lorenzo and Nikolas — stayed until series’ end alongside Collins, 77, and Hicks, 73.
