Julia Fox is criticizing her ex-husband, Peter Artemiev, for making a major decision regarding their 4-year-old son, Valentino, without her knowledge.
“I went to my son’s school for this little performance and his dad was there. He came late, as usual,” Fox, 35, claimed in a recent TikTok video. “And then, I had to help load some stuff in my car, so we were walking to my car, and he points to this church, and he goes, ‘Oh, this is where Valentino was baptized.’”
The baptism news came as a surprise to Fox, who proceeded to ask her ex why she wasn’t in attendance. “He was like, ‘You were invited. You just didn’t want to come,’” she claimed. “And I was like, ‘OK. First of all, don’t tell me what I was not and was invited to.’ Absolutely not. If I was invited to something like that, I would go. I would remember. And if I wasn’t invited, I would still have a picture or something. No one told me anything about this.”
Fox alleged that Artemiev continued to deny not inviting her to the event, which reminded her of being “gaslighted over and over and over” in their previous relationship. She decided to contact his mom about the drama but was met with a similar response.

“She was like, ‘Well, the priest said that it was, like, a Russian Orthodox thing and only Russian Orthodox people could come.’ And it’s like, ‘Wow, now I see where this man gets it from,’” Fox told fans. “Don’t gaslight me. That is a bulls*** excuse. I am this child’s mother. You are not his mother. And she was like, ‘OK. I just thought you wouldn’t care.’”
The Uncut Gems star noted that she’s “been raising this child alone for four years” and told Artemiev’s mother that she felt “robbed” of witnessing one of her son’s important moments. “And then she was like, ‘What are you gonna do? Punish me now? Are you not gonna let me see Valentino?’ And it’s like, dude, I don’t operate like that,” she continued. “My son loves you ’cause he doesn’t know any better. So, I’m gonna do that to him. But now I know. … Now I have the confirmation of how you people operate, and you’re all trash.”

Fox concluded the video by calling the whole situation “crazy” before giving fans a warning “from the bottom of my heart.” She stated, “Who you have a child with will dictate the rest of your life. Do not have a child with a loser.”
Artemiev reacted to Fox’s TikTok video in a statement to People, claiming his mother asked Fox for her permission to baptize Valentino back in February 2024. “Her response to my mom was … ‘I don’t care about religion. If you want to baptize him. Baptize him. I don’t care,’” he told the outlet.
Artemiev also claimed that at the time Fox posted her TikTok on April 4, Valentino was “in my mom’s care, which he regularly is.”

Fox and Artemiev tied the knot in 2018 but split after less than two years of marriage, finalizing their divorce in July 2020. Fox gave birth to their son in January 2021 and moved on romantically with Drake and Kanye West.
Fox opened up about raising her son in an April 2024 interview with Variety, stating that she wants Valentino to be proud of his “nepo baby” status. “I feel like by [hiding your kids] it’s almost like a disservice,” she told the outlet. “It’s like I have this very highly coveted thing, I want to share that with my son. We need him to be a nepo baby, and he needs to, like, own it too. He can’t be like, ‘I’m not really a nepo baby,’ he needs to be like, ‘Yes, I’m a nepo baby, and what?’”
