The year’s first session of the legislature will begin on March 3, while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who holds the Finance portfolio, is scheduled to present his record 16th Budget on March 7.

Amidst a demand from within the ruling Congress to cut down on funding to the five guarantees, the Chief Minister on Monday reiterated that there was no proposal to reduce the funds for the schemes.

The session will commence with the address by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to a joint session of the legislature.
