The Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) will stage a protest in front of the office of the Director of Health Services (DHS) on Tuesday (March 18) to protest against the government’s refusal to resolve the acute human resources crunch in the Health department as well as the “vengeful” measures allegedly adopted by the DHS against doctors.

The KGMOA will sit in protest in front of the office of the DHS from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.

It said that there were over 500 vacancies of doctors in the Health department and because of the government’s reluctance to fill the vacancies, other doctors were being overworked.

The KGMOA also protested against the disciplinary action being taken against those doctors who refused to do VIP duties which were in violation of the accepted norms for VIP duties

It also took exception to the fact that the government had not initiated any steps for completing the general transfers in April.
