The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will collect 7 paise per unit as fuel surcharge on electricity bills in April. This is aimed at recovering the additional amount spent on power purchases in February this year. In 2023, the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) had set 10 paise per unit as the maximum rate of fuel surcharge in a month that can be automatically collected from a consumer by power distribution companies.
