As one of the most profitable athletes in all of college sports, LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne recently rewarded herself for all of her hard work — and she even extended the favor to a member of her family.
“I would say my biggest purchase is probably my car,” Dunne, 22, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Accelerator Active Energy. “And I got my sister a car for her birthday. I got her a Jeep because she deserves anything just as much as I do. Because she helps me with everything I do. I’m very grateful for her.”
Dunne’s sister, Julz, is Livvy’s manager and has helped the gymnast and social media superstar secure some of her biggest brand deals. Livvy’s name, image, likeness (NIL) evaluation is estimated at $4.1 million, the highest for any female collegiate athlete, according to On3.com.
In July 2023, Livvy revealed she made $500,000 for a single social media post.
Despite the eye-popping numbers, Livvy — who has amassed 8 million followers on TikTok — admitted she’s actually a bit of a penny-pincher.
“I would definitely say I am frugal with my money,” Livvy told Us. “I enjoy splurging on experiences and being able to do things with people, like my family. Or maybe an experience with my boyfriend Paul.”
Livvy has been dating Pittsburgh Pirates pitching phenom Paul Skenes, 22, since the summer of 2023.
“Paul likes to spend a little bit more,” Livvy said of her boyfriend, who signed a $9.2 million contract with the Pirates in July 2023.
While she still can, Livvy said she likes to “kind of live my life like a normal college student.”
Livvy officially graduated from LSU in December 2024. She has been dealing with an avulsion fracture of her patella for months and it is unclear if Livvy will be able to compete when the Tigers look to defend their national title when the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships begin April 17.
“Because I’m a college kid and I have NIL in my life and I’m blessed with all these opportunities and I have this money at a young age, I think people think that I act a certain way,” Livvy explained. “But I really don’t. I like to do things with my family, my teammates. I like to splurge on my loved ones. I think that’s something that’s a little bit misunderstood.”
She continued, “If you look around at some of these other NIL athletes, it’s like Lamborghinis and these huge purchases. But I like to save.”
