Two men were beaten up and ‘paraded’ in public in broad daylight after they were arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on charges of cow slaughter on Monday (March 3, 2025).

In purported videos that surfaced online, the men are seen walking on a road accompanied by some police personnel with one of them hitting them with a baton. The men, as shown in the videos, can also be seen raising chants likes “gaay kumari mata hai (cow is our mother)”.

Ujjain Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma confirmed the arrests to The Hindu but denied having any information about the alleged parading of the accused. “I am not aware of the parading but we will check the details,” he said.
