Mock fire evacuation drill conducted at airport

A mock terminal evacuation exercise was conducted at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport here on Thursday by simulating a fire emergency at Terminal 1 (T1). The drill was conducted as per fire and life safety protocols in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders. The mock drill began at 9.30 a.m. and concluded at 10.15 a.m. after the successful review of various parameters.

The drill was undertaken during runway closure, ensuring that there was no disruption to airport operations and no inconvenience to passengers. This drill is an integral part of the emergency preparedness to ensure that the airport is capable of handling emergency situations, said a release from the airport.
