Nara Lokesh to visit Atmakur in July to inaugurate new facilities

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources Development (HRD) Nara Lokesh is expected to visit Atmakur constituency in SPSR Nellore district in the month of July to inaugurate a slew of facilities and also lay the foundation stone for some more.

Minister for Endowments and local legislator Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Sunday (March 23, 2025) announced that he had already extended an invite to Mr. Lokesh to inaugurate the ITI building in the mandal headquarters town of Sangam and dedicate it to the nation during his visit.

The Institute is currently functioning from a temporary premises in Atmakur and it would be shifted to the premises in Sangam, donated to the government by Lanco group as part of its charity activity.

“The building meant to house an old age home would be modified suitably to establish an educational institution during the annual vacation period and thrown open to the students for the ensuing academic year,” he said.

Similarly, the 100-bedded hospital in Atmakur would be upgraded into a 200-bedded District Government Hospital in a phased manner in two years, by adding 50 beds each year. “Though orders have been issued to this effect, a formal announcement will be made by Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav soon,“Mr. Reddy told the media at Atmakur.

The BC Girls Residential School will also be upgraded to house a Junior College for which the government has accorded its tentative nod. The Minister sought the cooperation of the Member of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and MLC Beeda Ravichandra to expedite the projects.
