Even though the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted its chargesheet in the case of ADM Naveen Babu’s death, his family remain deeply dissatisfied with the probe.

Addressing mediapersons, his wife, Manjusha, voiced her concerns, alleging that the investigation failed to examine the broader conspiracy behind his death.

According to the family, the inquiry was conducted as if former Kannur district panchayat president P.P. Divya was the sole accused, ignoring potential involvement of others. They had previously expressed a lack of faith in the police investigation and even after the SIT took over, they saw no significant progress.

The SIT’s findings, they claimed, were no different from the initial police probe.

The family also reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their legal battle, demanding an investigation by another agency. They also announced their decision to approach the Supreme Court.

Naveen Babu, who served as the ADM of Kannur, was found dead in his government quarters on October 15 last year. His family had urged authorities to name T.V. Prashanth, who allegedly offered a bribe to secure a petrol pump licence at Chengalayi, as an accused and to thoroughly investigate the suspected conspiracy. However, the police concluded that there was no evidence of foul play or murder.
