A 47-year-old NWKRTC driver was found in Belagavi on Wednesday.
The body of Balachandra Shivappa Hukkoji was found inside a bus.
Police suspected that he could have been upset over his leave application being rejected by senior officers.
NWKRTC officials, however, have denied this. He was on leave from March 17 to 27. His unauthorised absence from March 29 and 30 was also regularised. He attended duty on March 31 and April 1, they said.
Meanwhile, the driver’s mother and sister told the police and NWKRTC officers that he was facing marital problems for a decade. They urged the police to mention this strife as a cause for his death. Police are investigating.
A case has been registered.
