Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge, who is also Kalaburagi district in-charge, has instructed officials to make available adequate bus facilities for job aspirants arriving from various districts in the Kalaburagi division for the mega job fair scheduled here on Wednesday.

During a video conference from Bengaluru with various officials on Sunday, Mr. Kharge said that since this is a division-level job fair, bus arrangements should be made from all taluk headquarters towards the city based on candidate registration across the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka region.

The Minister also directed Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) Managing Director M. Rachappa to announce the departure locations and timing of the shuttle services in advance.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, AICC president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and legislators from the region will participate in the mega job fair. They will also take part in the inauguration of the super-specialty hospital here on Wednesday.

Given that thousands of candidates are expected to attend the job fair, Mr. Kharge stressed the need for making arrangements for drinking water and food and also mentioned that necessary police personnel should be deployed to manage the crowd. He then directed Deputy Commissioner FauziaTarannum to appoint officials to oversee both the job fair and the hospital inauguration.

Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Sharan Prakash Patil, meanwhile, said that more efforts should be made to invite companies from Pune in Maharashtra and Hyderabad in Telangana to the job fair.

He told Karnataka Skill Development Corporation Managing Director Nagaraj to coordinate with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) which will help in attracting more companies for the job fair.

Mr. Nagaraj said that so far 275 employers in 30 different sectors have registered for participation in the job fair. This number includes 157 companies, 80 human resources consultants and 37 payroll service provider companies. Efforts are under way to attract major IT giants like Infosys and Wipro. With two days remaining for registration, he said that information, education and communication (IEC) activities will be intensified to secure more registrations.

Dr. Patil reiterated that around 25,000 job aspirants are expected to register and directed officials to launch extensive publicity through advertising and radio jingles.

KSDC chairperson Kanta Naik said that candidates selected during the job fair will receive appointment letters directly from the respective companies.

She said that efforts will be made to provide necessary training for those who do not secure jobs with a view to helping them achieve placement in the future.

MLAs Allamprabhu Patil and M.Y. Patil and MLCs Thippannappa Kamaknoor and Jagdev Guttedar were present.
