Five organs of a 15-year-old boy from Mahabubnagar, Telangana, gave a new lease of life to five people after he was declared brain dead following a road accident earlier this week.

Nairi Mahesh, a student, met with a motorcycle accident on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) after his vehicle crashed into a tree. He was rushed to a hospital in Mahabubnagar district, where he received treatment for two days. However, doctors declared him brain dead on the morning of Saturday (April 4, 2025).

Soon after, counsellors from the Telangana government’s Jeevandan organ donation programme approached Mahesh’s family after which the family agreed to donate his organs.

Following the decision, Mahesh’s two kidneys, two corneas, and liver were harvested and sent to patients in need of transplants.
