The Cyberabad police have imposed restrictions on the public movement on the 400-acre land in Kancha Gachibowli, citing prevailing law and order concerns.

The prohibitory orders, effective from 6 a.m. on April 4, prevents individuals without legitimate business or bona fide work in the area from entering it.

In an official notification issued by Madhapur DCP Vineeth G on Friday (April 4, 2025), it was stated that the measure is intended to prevent danger to human life, ensure public tranquillity, and avert any potential riots or obstruction of duty.

This comes after a series of protests staged by students of the University of Hyderabad against the auction of the land. The restricted area is linked to ongoing legal proceedings in the Telangana High Court and the Supreme Court of India.

Residents and commuters have been advised to comply with the directive and avoid unnecessary movement in the restricted area to prevent any legal consequences.
