Rotary Club of Madras and Cancer Institute Adyar jointly set up a mammogram unit in Tiruvannamalai to help women in screening for breast cancer after a significant uptick in breast cancer cases has been reported in rural Tamil Nadu. Funded by SBI mutual funds, a state of the art Japanese machine (mammogram unit) valued at Rs 1.25 crores was installed at the Old Government Hospital in Tiruvannamalai and was handed in the presence of Dr Malliga Subramaniam Head Preventive Oncology Cancer Institute ( WIA ) and Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Madras and doctors from the Government Hospital.
