Rylee Arnold will be recuperating on the sidelines for the remainder of the Dancing With the Stars: Live Tour.
“Hi guys. I just wanted to give you an injury, ankle update,” Arnold, 19, said in a Tuesday, April 8, Instagram post. “Sadly, my doctor did not OK me to get back to dancing right now, and I will not be returning for the extension of the tour, which is just so sad. I’m going to be resting and healing at this time to make sure that my ankle properly gets healed and returns back to the way it was.”
Arnold noted that she’s “so sad” to miss the remainder of the live shows, adding that “all of you guys who are going are going to have so much fun.”
“It’s a show that I am just so proud of, so inspired by. Every single one of the dancers is the most talented people I know,” she said. “So it is such an amazing show. And I’m sad I can’t do these last nine shows for you guys, but I know that I need to take this time to heal, make sure my ankle gets back to where it needs to be. All of your guys’ love and support has meant the absolute world to me and I cannot wait to see you guys again and to get back dancing. I love you all. Bye.”
She captioned the post, “Update for you all love you guys 🥹❤️🩹.”
The comments section of Arnold’s upload was flooded with well-wishes from fans and DWTS pros alike. “goshhhhhh im gonna miss ya,” pro Ezra Sosa wrote, while sister and former DWTS pro Lindsay Arnold added, “Love you so much!!!”
Rylee injured her ankle during the March 27 show in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“I’m sure you have heard or probably saw last night at the Salt Lake City show I injured and sprained my ankle in one of my dances and was not able to continue dancing and do my dances for the rest of the show,” she said in an Instagram video posted on March 28. “But good news, it’s not broken, it’s sprained. I just need to take this time to heal and make sure that I can return back to the show.”
Rylee revealed that Kailyn Rodgers, who was a member of the DWTS troupe in season 33, would be filling in her place. Rylee made an appearance onstage that night to thank her loved ones for showing up to her hometown show — despite not being able to strap on her dancing shows.

“I am in my Adidas. Thought they were really cute,” Rylee explained of her shoe choice, per fan footage. “I haven’t really been dancing so that’s just the reason why. But I just wanted to come out here and thank all of you guys. It’s so cool to be in my hometown, in front of all the people I love. So I’m just super grateful to be here.”
Rylee joined DWTS season 32 in 2023, where she was partnered with Harry Jowsey. The next season, Rylee and partner Stephen Nedoroscik finished in fourth place.
