A mobile phone theft attempt was thwarted at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic) metro station on Saturday evening, thanks to the swift action of a woman security guard.

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Platform 1, when a man identified as Ganesh allegedly tried to steal a mobile phone from a passenger’s pocket while boarding a train.

“The alert guard noticed the act and immediately caught the accused. The assistant security officer promptly informed the Hoysala police patrol unit, which arrived at the scene and handed the accused over to Upparpet Police Station for further investigation,” a BMRCL official said.
