'Sikandar' box office collection day 10: The Salman Khan starrer sees an all-time low on second Tuesday, makes Rs 1.35 crore

Salman Khan starrer ‘Sikandar‘ is proving to be a dud at the box office, as the film may have crossed Rs 100 crore at the box office but then because it was mounted on a high budget, this number is quite dull. While the film opened at Rs 26 crore on March 30, it saw a subsequent downfall in the days after Eid when it saw some growth.
Sikandar Movie Review
It managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of its second Sunday which also is quite disappointing. According to Sacnilk, the movie has started seeing a major decline from this Monday onwards. It made Rs 1.75 crore on Monday and now on day 10, which is Tuesday, it has made Rs 1.35 crore. Thus, the total collection of ‘Sikandar’ is now Rs 105.60 crore.
With these trends, it’s less likely that a film of this stature will even manage to cross Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office. Trade expert Girish Wankhede told Etimes, “The film is made on a budget of Rs 250 crore. While, many a re saying that it’s made on a budget of Rs 300 or Rs 350crore, the actual budget is Rs 250 crore. Thus, even with that, the movie is a debacle as it won’t recover the cost.”
Trade experts feel that the weak script is the reason behind the film’s performance at the box office as this time around, even Salman Khan fans are feeling disappointed.
Regarding the film’s dull performance at the box office, Manoj Desai, Executive Director, G7 Multiplex and Maratha Mandir cinemas, told Etimes, “The film was a copy of some other film and the heroine was killed early. I haven’t seen a single frame of the film. But this is what the public has told me which I’m telling you. People would have gone for Salman but the pirated version which is freely available got leaked so people will watch the film there. Like, now because of OTT also, people have that attitude that we shall see the film at home.”
