The State recorded an attendance percentage of 98.27 on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examinations on Monday (March 17).

In a press release, School Education Director Vijay Rama Raju said the First Language exam was conducted smoothly.

Out of 6,27,277 registered students, 6,16,451 appeared for the exam and 10,826 were absent, according to the release. The exams are being conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education across 3,450 examination centres.

Flying squads inspected 1,545 centres on the first day. During an inspection at a school in Kurnool district, two students were found indulging in malpractice and were debarred from the examinations, Mr. Vijaya Rama Raju said in the release.
