The seed of innovation in business, often rooted in creativity and problem-solving, involves generating new ideas, processes or products to drive growth and adapt to the changing market conditions, Executive Director of Business Network International (BNI), Guntur, Sekhara Babu P.S. has said.
Addressing B. Tech students of Freshman Engineering Department in Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology on Friday as part of ‘Udyavishk-2K25”, a 10-day workshop on ‘Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, Mr. Sekhara Babu urged the students to look beyond jobs and aim to be entrepreneurs.
“Think out of box and develop a Unique Selling Proposition (USP), which is crucial for businesses to highlight what makes a product or service stand out,” he said.
Resident Editor of The Hindu, Andhra Pradesh, Appaji Reddem emphasised that entrepreneurship should be relevant to the world, foster innovation, drive economic growth, create jobs and address societal challenges through development of new products, services and solutions.
He said for instance chip-designing could be a promising career path for budding entrepreneurs. He encouraged the students to identify the needs of the society and come up with innovative ideas to become problem-solvers.
Resource person of the event, Krishna Sowjanya said one of the best features of the ongoing workshop was the collaboration forged by different team members.
She said through the series of activities planned across the ongoing event, the attempt was to provide a platform to students to hone their skills and showcase them.
Creative thinking
Principal K. Sivaji Babu said the college was encouraging the students to observe societal issues, identify problems, think creatively and incubate their ideas, providing funding and support for their ventures.
As many as 72 students, divided into nine teams, are participating in eight activities named as Brain Spark, Colour Fusion, Rising Icons, Spot Light Squad, Visionary Vanguards, Creative Crew, Chill Mates and Treasure Trackers.
“We want this platform to enrich the students’ understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said the Principal.
