On Monday (June 9), as the annadhanam counter near the temple was overcrowded, they bought their food from a shop nearby and went to the courtyard to eat as always. Noticing the duo eat egg biryani within the temple, a few devotees raised an alarm and informed the police.
Tiruvannamalai Town police who inquired said the couple claimed to have asked the shopkeeper for plain biryani and found eggs in both the packets only after they opened. The police warned the couple and let them off after they apologised.
