Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday told the Assembly the ‘Ungal Thogudhiyil Mudhalamaichar’ (Chief Minister in your constituency) initiative is being implemented in the State without any political bias.

The Chief Minister was responding to the Leader of the Opposition Edappadi.K. Palaniswami, who alleged that when pending projects were proposed, they were rejected on the ground that it was not financially viable to execute them under the initiative. He also said even if any alternative projects were proposed, they were also not taken up under the initiative.

Under the ‘Ungal Thogudhiyil Mudhalamaichar’ initiative, all the 234 legislators shall furnish a list of 10 long-pending projects in their constituencies to the Collectors of their districts.

Mr. Stalin said “Our government conducts a review every two months with regard to this initiative. As the Chief Minister, I personally oversee these reviews. Only projects that are financially viable and feasible can be executed under this initiative. Such projects are being implemented without any political bias.”
