The Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) has appointed 50 community participation assistants (CPA) to expedite the distribution of pending sale deeds to beneficiaries under the Madras Urban Development Plan (MUDP) and the Tamil Nadu Urban Development Plan (TNUDP).
This move follows a recent review meeting convened by Anshul Mishra, Managing Director, TNUHDB. The 50 CPAs would directly inspect a total of 12,495 plots located across 322 project areas in Zone 1 to Zone 7 in Chennai. These beneficiaries who were allotted plots under the MUDP and the TNUDP neither possessed sale deeds nor submitted necessary supporting documents for records, a press release said.
Accordingly, each CPA has been assigned to inspect 25 plots on a daily basis and complete 250 plots in 10 days. A supervisor and a junior assistant have also been appointed at the zonal level to coordinate the work. The field-level data collected by CPAs would be verified by executive engineers and community development officers. The CPAs have also been directed to submit a daily status report to fast-track the process, the release said.
