Two underground cadres of the banned CPI (Maoist) from Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday surrendered before Eturnagaram ASP Shivam Upadhyaya in Telangana’s Mulugu district.

Police identified the surrendered duo as Madvi Kosa, 20, Chetna Natya Mandali (CNM) member and Sodi Jogi, 23, a militia member of the outlawed outfit from Pujari Kanker village in Bijapur district.

According to the police, the duo had joined the mainstream in the wake of enhanced surveillance measures following establishment of new security camps in the Maoist hotbed of Chhattisgarh’s south Bastar region.

They expressed their willingness to lead a peaceful life by availing assistance under the surrender-cum-rehabilitation policy of the Telangana government.
