Two persons convicted of cheating MESCOM with forged SSLC mark cards

A Shivamogga court convicted two persons, who cheated the Mangaluru Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) by forging SSLC mark cards, and sentenced them to two years imprisonment with a penalty of ₹4,000.

The Jayanagar police registered a case in November 2016 against Ganesh Gowda B.G. and B.B. Girish on charges of cheating the MESCOM while reporting for duty. The case was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Imran Baig, who was then sub-inspector of Jayanagar police station, conducted the investigation and filed the chargesheet.

The fourth additional civil judge and Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Shivakumar G.N., pronounced the judgment on Wednesday, March 26. As per Section 420 of the IPC, they have been sentenced to two years imprisonment with a penalty of ₹4,000.
